We have members that own a variety of cars and bikes, these range from late 1920s vintage cars, unique 50s vehicles and much later cars that may yet to be considered real "classics". Sadly many cars that people may have "inherited" from a friend or relative like a 1980s Holden, Falcon , grandpa's immaculate old Fairlane etc were simply being sent of to the wreckers as it was too expensive to pay full registration for a vehicle that may be driven infrequently or it may be the old corolla that was your first car and you are about to upgrade, the car is worth very little as a trade in and you will be sad to see it go and you can not justify $800 + to keep it around for a second car. Being a member of a club and taking advantage of the club permit scheme with its $100 year registration fee is an affordable way to keep the old girl on the road, drive it occasionally, have access to a second vehicle in an emergency and not have to send the old girl off to the crusher. Who knows one day an XE falcon may be a real classic.
